Sébastien Gaudette

Over the past few years, Sébastien Gaudette’s work has been seen throughout Quebec. His works have been selected for numerous solo exhibitions in large institutions, most notably at the Musée des beaux-arts de Mont-Saint-Hilaire, the Centre national d’exposition de Jonquière, the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent in Rivière-du-Loup, UQTR’s Galerie R3, as well as Montreal’s Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur. In 2012, his works were shown as a large solo exhibition at the Ottawa School of Art’s gallery. The artist has received several honourable mentions and prizes, and many of his pieces are now part of public and private collections. In 2014, he foundedthe LAB/Dessin project, a research laboratory where notions of hybrid design are explored and different forms of collective creation are pushed forward. The collective comprised of four artists focuses on projects in which drawing independently takes them towards new avenues, which translates positively in each of their personal practice. Sébastien obtained his bachelor’s degree in visual arts and media studies at UQAM. The artist lives and works in Montreal.

Biography
