Phil Taylor - Scatterbrains
Phil Taylor is well known for his mixed media collage works on paper. Born in Toronto in 1970, Phil graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1995. He first began exhibiting in 1999 with Toronto’s BUS Gallery, and his work quickly met with wide critical acclaim. By 2005, he had established himself as one of the leading artists to emerge from Toronto’s Queen West scene. Phil has received numerous awards, including a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, two grants from the Ontario Arts Council, and the Anne Adler Kagan Award for contemporary drawing and painting as top graduating artist from the Ontario College of Art. His work has been displayed in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout North America, and can be found in private and public collections all across North America, Europe, and Asia. The largest public collection of Phil’s work can be found at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre in Kingston (Ontario), not far from his home studio in Brockville.
