The new body of work, “A Spoonful of Sugar,” comes just in time to bring a little cheer to this “out of the ordinary” time we are experiencing.
The show was originally named “Boop!” after the larger bowling pin of “Obelix and Dogmatix,” but was changed in a nod to today’s social distancing that forbids all physical contact; even little “Boops” on the nose.

“A Spoonful of Sugar,” inspired by her “Mary Poppins” pin, is the new chapter in Bernice’s diary, which uses bowling pins to pay tribute to her brother and father who passed away.

Her father, an avid bowler, was playing in the finals of a bowling tournament at the same time her brother was being born.

The vintage bowling pins that she sculpts are like fragments of a personal diary reminiscing of the good old days and icons of the past that allow her to keep a connection to the time when she was growing up with her family. “A Spoonful of Sugar” may not be the cure for COVID-19, but will help bring a smile, “In a most delightful way.”
